I made it back to school, and for a marvel, there were no mechanical problems that caused delays. Seriously, this break started with my father, brother, and I all getting stuck in Evansville for two extra days, and then when Thomas headed back to his school he got stuck in plane delays in Cleavland overnight with no food. I was sort of surprised to make it back intact and without problems.
And when I got back to my dorm room, my roommate informed me that I was going to be celebrating my birthday this year, and she was organizing it all. I haven't actually celebrated my birthday in so long, I forget how. Normally I'm curling up around a box of tissues and drinking large amounts of hot tea instead. I think we're going out to dinner with a group of our friends, so there should be fun and insanity there.
Classes don't start until Wednesday, so to give me something to do tomorrow, I'm posting another drabble meme. Standard rules apply, give me a character and a one/two word prompt and I'll write you a drabble.
Available fandoms: SPN, NCIS, Narnia, Firefly

Date: 2008-01-09 03:07 am (UTC)I really like this bit:
The sounds were wrong. English had different rhythms, the cadences not what she was familiar with. Voices in the distance still turned into nonsense, a gibberish backdrop that she strained against each day.
because yes.
