Okay, I apologize for not posting, but yesterday was just busy.

Let's start off with church. Now, I love the church I go to while I'm in Evansville, but Christ Church Dayton is still my home church. It's where I am most comfortable, where I can truly open up and know that the entire community is there for me. I was so glad to be back home. I crashed the Senior High class during Sunday School, which was fun. No matter where we start out, we always end up discussing something completely random by the end of class. Plus, one of my teachers is the priest's wife, and she has an incredible sense of humor about the Bible, probably because she actually pays attention to what she's reading. She gets all the dirty jokes, and you should hear her rant about anyone who starts talking about "Biblical sexual morality". To be blunt, if you read the OT, you would notice all the times when the characters do things we would never consider acceptable. Sure, there are great things to be learned, but the men and women of the Bible are definitely not perfect. After Sunday School, came the actual service. I forgot how much I missed being in the pews.

After lunch, we went home and started prepping for Christmas up with Grandmommy, my aunt and uncle, and my cousin. My aunt and uncle are going to his family for Christmas, so we had to celebrate early. We had a lot of fun, and my aunt and uncle went overboard on presents again. Then again, when do they not? They were actually rather reserved in my case, only going for two books and a necklace. (Minor pause for me to squee about having a Huffflepuff cross--it's black and gold!) The books they got for me were ones that I haven't read and have been wanting for a while; Thud, by Terry Pratchett, and Burning Water, by Mercedes Lackey. Glee moment. I'm saving them right now, savoring the anticipation.

Dinner was wonderfully, although not what I'm used to for Christmas. We went with Scott's family's traditional dinner, which is roast pork. There was a lot of other good food there as well, like garlic twice-baked potatoes and asperagus. And Grandmommy was very alert for her. She's been in and out of it for the last six months or so, ever since her stroke. There are times when it seems like she's not aware of anything, and then again there are times when she's really there. When she's really there, she remembers everything that happened when she was out of it, so it's more that she can't always communicate easily. Last night was a good night for her. She enjoyed her dinner and had fun looking at her presents.

Then this morning, I went back and visited my old high school with cookies. It's family tradition to send Christmas cookies to the teachers, and I wanted to say hi anyway. The teachers certainly seem to enjoy it.

And that catches you up!

P.S. It is far too cold here.

Okay, I gave in. I've seen that Tarot quiz wandering around my flist for the past few days, so I finally took it.

In other news, I think I practically doubled my flist today with the Hogwarts friending meme. To those of you from there, hi!
