Oct. 31st, 2006 04:15 amYawn. Why am I so tired today? Aside from classes and a quickie Geek Alliance meeting, I didn't do much.
Weekend update:
Friday night was spent at what would have been the Star Wars Halloween party, but none of the outside people showed up. So instead, several of us sat around and geeked out. On the plus side, I had three people stop and go "ooh, pretty" over my dress, so that was definitely a success.
Saturday I spent a good portion of the day working at the library in garb. The Medieval party was that evening and I didn't want to change later. Of course, it would have to be the day when the university was holding an open house and large amounts of high-school students with their parents were tromping around.
The Medieval party was amazing, and a definite success. Actually, I think we had a better party than the RSA party, and that was the official school party! But I got to do all the fun dances, plus hang around with adults and little kids. I'm seriously deprived of people outside my generation here at school, and ever since I was young I've always gotten along better with people who were either several years older or younger than I was. I think I enjoyed getting to speak with the local SCA people more than anything else. Although, crashing the RSA party to dance the Karabushka to "Wipeout" ranks pretty high up there on the enjoyment level as well.
Sunday I stopped in on the first SCA fighter's practice on campus for this term. I meant to stay for only a bit to say hi and talk, and got ambushed by one of the children of the fighters. She has the same disabilities my sister does, but is much higher functioning, and I made it two steps into the door before she latched onto me, not that I was going to complain about it.
And today in class I learned that the paper that I'd been unable to work on for more than a few minutes due to my brain deciding to go on strike all weekend, which I thought I was going to have to pull an all-nighter on tonight to finish, isn't due until next Tuesday, not tommorow. Yayness.
