Jul. 13th, 2007 11:25 pmThere's a lot of things I love about my church.
One of them is a new thing this year, a woman's movie group. Several women in the parish get together and watch a movie about once a month, and discuss it afterwards.
Sans men. *grins* This was the first I've been at, and depending on when they schedule the next, I may or may not be there for another.
We ended up watching A Painted Veil, which was about a young English couple, a doctor and his wife, who ended up working in a Chinese village during a cholera epidemic in the 1920s. It was interesting, and rather thought-provoking, more for the relationship between the doctor and his wife than for the cholera storyline.
But now I want to go and read more about the history of epidemics, because one of the women there asked me some questions that I wasn't able to answer to my own satisfaction. *makes note to self to request stuff from my library*
And now I'm catching the Doctor Who episode.
