Dec. 30th, 2007 09:26 pmThings accomplished in the past few days:
1. I got back into touch with all my friends here, I've met up with two of them, and I'll be getting together with the third by this time tomorrow. We came, we saw, we gibber-jabbered for hours on end. I've missed all of them so much, over the school term.
2. I have learned the basics of spinning, and have used up my first roving to produce something that resembles actual yarn. It's kind of lumpy, and there's bits that need improvement, but it is actual yarn.
3. I've got a first draft of my family ficathon story written, though I still need to bully Dad into reading it through and giving me his opinion on how I've written the father's perspective.
4. Mom, Elizabeth, and I all went out on a long mall-wander in an attempt to find Elizabeth a dress she could wear to church, since she's finally grown curves and now doesn't fit into most of her old dresses. Unfortunately, it seems like they've stopped selling dresses, at least at the level of dressy-casual that we need for her. There was almost nothing at any of the stores we went through, and the ones that were there were party dresses, not everyday dresses. So we did what we always do when we can't find what we want pre-made. We headed out to Jo-anns and bought fabric and a pattern for her.
5. I got the NCIS season three DVDs out of the library, and have been remembering why I like this series so much. And also trying to talk myself out of writing a crack crossover between NCIS and Voyager, just because getting Gibbs and Janeway in a room together would be awesome.
