Jan. 5th, 2009 10:58 pmOkay, I'm so behind on the happiness meme. Unfortunately for me, my annual "it's my birthday, I'm going to get sick" hit a few days early, and I ended up spending yesterday afternoon to evening and part of today absolutely flattened.
Looking on the bright side, however, this possibly means that I'll be just fine on my birthday, which is definitely of the good. Going out to eat with a friend on my birthday is a far more pleasant way to spend my birthday than being sick on it.
In a bullet-point format then; the past three days worth of happiness:
Saturday:I was happy for the nice weather, which let my mom and dad go out on a long walk together in the afternoon, and which made my walk to and from the library quite pleasant.
Sunday: I'd just finished hemming up the dress that Mom and I had made, and I wore it into church and had a few people ask me where I'd bought it. It's always nice to hear that you've done that good of a job on sewing your clothes.
Today: I'm very glad for my mother and my teacher. My mother, for taking a long look at me this morning and telling me that I wasn't going in to class, because I definitely needed it. And my teacher, for calling me up as soon as class was over to tell me what the homework was and that there wasn't going to be a quiz next week. It was so nice of her to go out of her way to do that for me.
And a bonus happiness for the entire weekend: tea, and the teamug that
lady_tigerfish gave to me for Christmas. Absolute lifesavers, and the teamug kept giving me happy memories of all the times the two of us had had tea over online chats with each other. Those tea and conversation times were some of my best quiet memories of our friendship.
