Dec. 4th, 2007 11:42 pmSo, I spent about five hours tonight sitting around and geeking out with friends tonight. We're still in the rush before Yule Ball, so a large amount of that time was spent hanging out in the ROR working on various dresses. And with me sitting around figuring out how I'm going to do everyone else's hair.
That did lead to one fun scene towards the end of the evening. See, we do a bit of RPing of various characters within the club, and three of us play the Black sisters (at some mythical time when they all got along). I'm Andromeda, and I'd just finished creating a style for our Narcissa to wear. She had her dress draped over her front and was checking it out in the mirror while I was preforming some finishing touches. And in the mirror, you see her, and then me standing behind, looking over her shoulder and fussing over her. Just like a protective older sister when the younger is getting ready for their coming out ball. Erm, yeah, we tend to inhabit our roles a bit. To the point where we can sit there and reel off exactly what all of the other two's motivations are and how our thought processes work in character.
And I spent a bit of this evening later on looking at Fleur's Yule Ball dress: http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/e/e0/180px-Gofpromo-fleur01.jpg. Someone remind me that I already have a pretty dress for the dance and that I won't have any place to wear that one to any time in the near future? Or even that I don't have the necessary lining material or notions to make it here with me? (Sadly, I do have the main material here, and a suitable lining material at home.)

Date: 2007-12-05 01:10 pm (UTC)Okay, mental compromise time. If my friend tells me that her bridesmaids' dress color is going to be gray, I'm going to make that dress, only tea-length.

Date: 2007-12-05 01:22 pm (UTC)I just love the way the skirt drapes. It's so light a fabric that it hangs relatively straight down, but you know it will swish and twirls so well, and flair out a good deal.

Or even in another color, it'll still be pretty. And appropriate for a summer wedding.
Yes!

Date: 2007-12-05 06:29 pm (UTC)As soon as I figure out what color my friend wants us to wear for her wedding, I am so making this at Malkins.
(And Katie says to come by our room sometime soon if you want happy warm fuzzies, because she exploded with joy when she got an A on her test.)
