You know, I really like Supernatural. Normally, that is. But the gender and race issues this show has have been getting really bad this season. To the point where I went from cheering at the screen to wanting to shoot it this past episode. This post: http://musesfool.livejournal.com/1519843.html says everything I'd want to about the trends on the show. Warning, it has spoilers for this last episode.

*headdesk* Kripke, go back to the drawingboard on this, okay? Fix your mistakes now, before I have to stop watching.

Thanks for posting that, because, um, yeah. SPN does a horrible job with gender, and just as bad with race. I'm blown away by the number of people replying to that post who honestly believe that casting decisions are "colorblind." (Although, my lack of surprise at the number of people who are trying to defend the show and say that the accusations are unfounded makes me worry that I'm becoming cynical.)
