Reactions to sorting
Sep. 27th, 2005 08:20 pmMy application to sorting_elite is up, and I'm designating this post as my reactions to the votes.
Okay, change that to a few squib votes, but they're being reasonably nice about it, so I don't mind. As it stands, I don't think I'm going to get squibbed out of the community.
Second, where are the Gryffindor votes coming from? I've gotten several. I don't mind, but I'm not sure where they're getting it.
ETA: Okay, so maybe I've got more Gryffindor in me than I thought.
I'll edit this later, with more responses as the votes come in. Probably won't go into each one, unless they say something specific that I want to address.
Specific replies:
To those who are wondering about my Ron answer, I dislike him because of some of his faults that I did mention. But what makes him my least favorite character is the fact that he is real enough that he matters to me. Thus the faults become something I can't ignore.

Date: 2005-09-28 12:31 pm (UTC)On the subject of Gryffindor and on your frequent nomination as a leader - the Order of the Arrow is the Boy Scout honor society, and selection as an OA member is a recognition by your troop that you are a leader, and worthy of the honor. Some of our Eagles are not OA members. In spite of this, the "inside" name of OA is "Brotherhood of Cheerful Service". Sometimes, leadership is best shown in service to others, and the best leaders serve others the most. The leaders that get the most done are not the "John Wayne" leaders who shout out orders. The ones who get the most done are the ones who can communicate a vision to others, and motivate others to work together to reach that goal. "Better is he who can get ten others to do the work than he who can do the work of ten."
