Jun. 20th, 2008 01:42 pmDear Housemate,
You know, I understand that you needed to borrow the internet connection we had my computer on, because yours can sometimes be uncooperative. And I get the fact that you're stressed out about this presentation today, especially with getting sick in the middle of researching it and thus having to work on it for most of the evening yesterday. I can see how that might distract you from other things. But would it kill you to do as you said and, you know, plug my connection back in when you're done? You were my roommate long enough to figure out that I never mind you using my stuff, as long as you put it back. And you're the one who always said that she hated it when people said they'd do something and then didn't.
Exasperated, Mari.
Really, this roommate has been getting on my nerves a lot lately. I get that she's sick and stressed out, and I try to make allowances for that, but it seems like lately we keep rubbing each other the wrong way. The computer thing is a major issue. We debated letting me use her wireless and setting my computer up in my room, but she didn't want to take the time to fuss with it once she'd set her computer up and gotten the internet to work through her wireless. Therefore, we set my computer up in her room. And as long as she's not there, it works out fine. So during the daytime, I get access pretty easily. On the other hand, of course I don't use my computer when she's sleeping in there, or needs her privacy. Having roomed with her for a year, throughout that year there were maybe two times when she asked me to leave. In the two weeks or so since we've set up the computers in her room, I've been kicked out three times, and she tends to sleep in till midafternoon on weekends, which effectively kicks me off the computer for most of the day, which I wouldn't mind if I just had something to do. (Insert other rant about my classes not challenging me that much/one of them pretty much requiring me to be on the computer to do anything for that class here, please.)
/end rant
Aside from that, I'm doing fine.
penknife is hosting an impromptu ficathon based on the site tvtropes, where you comment and she gives you three random tropes to write a fanfic/meta on one of them before July 18th. It looks like it'll be rather fun.
And to create another timewaster, Johari windows seem to be reappearing on my flist. Mine is here UE people, no, I did not see Mommy/maternal listed anywhere on the descriptor buttons, sorry to disappoint all of you.

Date: 2008-06-20 10:12 pm (UTC)It's more that she unplugged the blue connection cord for my computer, plugged it into hers, and then didn't put it back when she was done. My connection port is at a very awkward place for me to get it back in, and she'd promised to return it and then didn't do it. Not so much a possessive bit as it is a 'couldn't you do me the courtesy of putting things back the way you found them?' issue.

Date: 2008-06-20 11:03 pm (UTC)I might ask her this weekend if we can actually shift my stuff upstairs. I don't want to bug her, but I'm getting uncomfortable with using my computer when she's in the room because it feels, right or wrong, like she doesn't want me there.
I'm pretty sure for the wireless thing that I need some way of connecting, like the little plug-in stick thing that she has on her computer. Am I right?
