Hey you, the creepy skeevy guy in the dark SUV,

Yeah, you, the guy who followed me and kept pulling over to try to get me to talk to you. The guy who did this four separate times, and only stopped when I turned on my heel and ran in the other direction in a spot where you couldn't turn your SUV around. Thanks for ruining my walk on the first nice day we've had in a week. Thanks for making me feel like I had to hide in the closest store so that you couldn't come up on me again by driving around some more. You creeped me out, you scared me, and you made me feel like I wasn't safe. Go away, and never pull a stunt like this again.

So, my walk went from being happy and relaxing, enjoying the pleasant weather, to being ridiculously tense and frightening, all because one guy wouldn't stop following me. Especially when, with the one glance I shot at him, he looked like he was about twice my age. Seriously, what makes a guy think that it is acceptable to come after a girl like that? Once, sure, that'd be okay to do, even if this guy was already seriously pinging on my radar as a not safe person, but to do that repeatedly, when I was absolutely not acknowledging him? Just ew, scary-bad-wrong, and it put a major damper on my whole day.

WTF. Did you say anything to him? I would have whipped out my cell phone and told him I was calling the cops if he didn't go away ASAP.

Frankly, I was too afraid that if I went near him, I wouldn't be safe, but it was all on an instinctive level, so there wasn't much I could report to the police on. Nothing he did was an overt threat. So I just turned and ran. Which, incidentally, not a fun thing to do in boots.

Also, I lack a cell phone to call the police with.

I think you could possibly sue him simply because you felt he posed a danger to yourself (a.k.a giving you the right to defend yourself). Also, his repeated attempts to come near you is DEF stalking. Yay my one law class is kicking in. I am so glad you are ok and I am sorry he ruined your day. Next time just say "Attack Badger Go!" and Jason will appear out of no where and fly at him with a sword. But good thing to do is call someone if you feel uncomfortable like that. I talk to people when I walk on campus late at night, people who can 911 if I have to start running. Glad you got away. So very glad. HUGS dear! Uber-HUGS.

And it was great walking weather today as well. It really stinks that you had to put up with that nonsense. Too bad you don't have a cellphone with a camera function on it, don't know for sure, but that might scare them away.

I might have been able to take a photo of the license plate with it, had I thought of that. Of course, at the point where I got creeped out enough to run, I knew that the thing I wanted least was to stay anywhere near that SUV, even to notice the license plate, which was something my dad asked me about afterwards.

Yeah, that's the problem with situations like this, you get into the fight or flight mode of thinking, which, while handy evading saber toothed tigers, doesn't help us much anymore. But yeah, getting away from roads where he could follow was probably the safest route.
