I have a Hufflepuff tie!

Guess what I did today? I went shopping at Goodwill with the rest of the costuming club, and I got my Hufflepuff outfit in one fell swoop. I got a black knee-length skirt, I already had a shirt, and there was a gold tie. Okay, the tie had blue stripes, but a bit of sharpie marker dealt with that. I tried it all on, and I looked like a Hufflepuff! *grins madly*
I also got this beautiful charcoal grey shirt. It's got one of those Mandarin collars, and it's sort of a tunic, as it reaches down to mid thigh. It's really pretty and silky.
I love shopping at Goodwill, you can get all of this for under ten dollars.
In other news, I have started the second skein of yarn on Grandmommy's blanket. I'm still getting random compliments from strangers on it, which makes me feel good.
And Hogsmeade continues apace. I might write one of the essays, I have an outline of it at least, but that'll wait till Sunday. Of the events I've done today, I'm proudest of the song I wrote for the Head Girl contest #1. What we had to do was rewrite the lyrics to one of the songs the head girl had chosen. I did "Moon Over Bourbon Street". It's totally different from anything I've ever written before, and right now I'm not sure if that's bad or good. I just know that that was the song that needed to be written with that prompt. Maybe after the contest is over, if anybody wants to see it, I'll post it.

Date: 2005-10-25 01:18 am (UTC)You've inspired me, though. I've decided to be Harry for Halloween (mostly because I've been trying to find a costume into which I can incorporate my glasses, because it's a hassle trying to do stuff when you can't see.) Perhaps I can save the costume and go to the movie like that, too...hmm...

Date: 2005-10-25 02:20 am (UTC)My biggest problem is that this Halloween party is on Wednesday. I hadn't thought I was going to dress up, so that's why I'm getting on it so late. I have a couple of ideas though, which involve borrowing a few of my dad's clothes ;), and I think it'll turn out all right. If not, oh well.
