Oct. 30th, 2005 07:58 amLast night was the medieval society's masquerade ball. We invited people from the local SCA group, and between them and the random people from the rest of the school who stopped in we had a pretty full house.
The SCA people brought the food (including pumpkin cheesecake!) and the music, and proceeded to teach us dances. That was fun, though it would have been more fun if I hadn't twisted my ankle in the first Karabushka and subsequently sat out most of the other dances. I didn't want the twist to turn into a sprain. I did at least get to dance The Hole in The Wall, because that's mainly walking and reverances. But there were a few that looked like so much fun, especially the scottish dances.
One of the girls from medieval society brought tarot cards and did readings for various people. According to her I need to take more time for myself, as I might be focusing too much on others and on work, and I need to avoid letting my older sister push me around on something. Reasonably accurate, as I do need to stop and de-stress a bit coming off of the past week. Although, I don't think Elizabeth is about to try to bully me into anything in the near future.
I ended up giving backrubs to several of the members of the local SCA group, which has endeared me to them. Nothing like a backrub to smooth things over.
