I spent a while working on my midrash while I was at work today. So far I've got a page of commentary written out longhand. All of it focusing on the names I've chosen for my characters. This stands as proof that Madeline L'Engle took over my brain from a very early age because that's really where I started this names are important gig.

Of course, that just makes it more pathetic when I can never remember anyone's name.

But still, one page of commentary done, and some vague ideas about what this story's going to focus on, and what the characters are going to be like. So far I have the woman as Anna, her husband as Noam, and her son as Jonathan. I feel somewhat productive.

In my less productive moments, I spent a while finding new vids that I like, so my music's expanding. Aside from the Weird Al I mentioned earlier, I found a new McWeir vid, a Weir vid, and a McKay vid done to "Faith of the Heart", the song they used as a theme song for Enterprise. Plus one by purpleyin called "Wear Sunscreen". Most of that one is formatted as a commencement address, which is fun, accurate, somewhat sentimental, and at times very pithy. I kept imagining Dumbledore saying it, even though the voice doesn't match either version of him. The words were something he would say.

The Wear Sunscreen song (not really a song, but it was played on the radio as such) was WILDLY popular here in the US about, oh, five years ago. I got deja vu when you mentioned it!

I must have missed it then, but that's not suprising, as I didn't pay a lot of attention to the radio.

Yup, I definitely remember that. Baz Luhrman put it to music and the commencement speech itself frequently got attributed (incorrectly) to Kurt Vonnegut. I think it was the year before I graduated high school, so while I wasn't listening to the radio much then I heard a lot about it.
