On getting spoiled
Aug. 14th, 2005 03:06 pmMy aunt and uncle spoil me rotten.
To explain that, first of all, my parents will get me anything I need, provided that they can afford it. But they have four children, Thomas is in catholic schools, I'm in college, Sara needs a lot of care, and Elizabeth just got moved into a house, which means they're finally not subsidizing her. And we're right at the median when it comes to wages. We have enough, but they can't afford to spend a lot on luxuries.
This is where Aunt Cindy and Uncle Scott come in. They took me out to dinner last night, since I'll be heading back to college next week, and during dinner I mentioned that one of my favorite shirts had gotten destroyed in the wash last week. It was one that I wore a lot, and coincidentally, was the only one that I'd ever gotten hit on in. I'd just mentioned it as something that had happened, but they insisted on replacing it.
So we get back from dinner and headed over to JCPennies. We were there to pick up one shirt. When we walked out the door later, I had two shirts and a denim suit. And by my aunt's tendencies, this was a light shop.
Now, I don't mind getting the clothes, and I definitely don't mind hanging out with my aunt and uncle, but they do spoil me rotten.
