Fangirling meme, part one.

ljmckay first, because she needs some love today.
So why do I find lj to be awesome?
One, she's one of my earliest internet friends. I first met her on the NCIS board chatroom, when we started responding the same way and finding things of interest to say to each other. That then turned into a game of private messaging ping-pong, where we bounced interesting questions at each other. At that point, she blew me away with her intelligence, her maturity, and her curiosity about life. We agreed on a lot of important issues and not important issues, and we were able to disagree without losing respect for the other person's beliefs, which just wowed me even more. And then she let me drag her into about five extra fandoms, I think. It might have been more. This just shows that she's just as insane as I am, and open to new experiences.
We've also been writing together since December of 2004, with me acting as beta-reader and ideas-generator. I've got to say, she made the beta-reader job far easier than it had any right to be, and she responded well to the few criticisms I could offer. It takes a lot of grace to be willing to accept criticism, and she showed that in abundance.
In personal terms, she's been someone I can always count one, a shoulder to cry on and someone to look to for support and cheering up when I have a bad day. I've always felt privileged to know her and to have her count me as a friend.
