What distinguishes my writing from the next author? How do you know something is mine? I'm not looking for flattery or compliments here (they're always nice, but it's not what I'm looking for). If you were to read a set of writing samples, how would you distinguish mine from the other authors, if you even could?
Some authors, both pro and fan, have the quality of "brand name", to an extent. You know that when you're going to read a story by this author it has certain qualities. If that's the case with my fic, what qualities do you know you're going to find in one of my stories?

Date: 2006-07-31 03:58 am (UTC)I think your stories tend to be flashes of introspection (and perhaps that's the nature of writing for these three fandoms for you). It seems to me that your goal is to climb inside the head of a character and poke around, see what you find, and write a story about that. I love that, since the best stories are character driven rather than plot driven.
