GIP. Hufflepuffs have all the good crack, I swear. This came out of Hogsmeade.

Actually, this post does have another reason to exist. On Sunday, our priest mentioned that since he was going to be going with several members of the church down to Washington to support our organist as she competes in a national contest, someone else was going to need to lead our discussion group.

At that point, my father half raises his hand and mentions that both he and I will be there on Sunday. I assumed that he was volunteering to lead the group himself, and was just fine with that. But as soon as he said that, every eye at the table turned towards me, and all of the adults decided that I was the perfect leader for next Sunday's discussion. My response was very diplomatic, I think. I did not immediately respond with either, "I hate you all" or "You are all completely evil." See? I was being very good. I think I mumbled something about not knowing what verses we were going to cover, but that excuse didn't hold, as our priest was very happy to tell me that. So I don't forget, it's the gospel of John, chapter 6, verses 52-57.

So yeah, my last Sunday at home will be spent leading a group of people who, at the youngest, are over twice my age, in a bible study. Fun, huh?

In my old church, I was regularly the MUCH-youngest in our morning discussion group. I was 26 and 27 when I was going regularly, there was one other person who I believe was in his late 30s, and just about everyone else was, I'm guessing, at least 55 - there were several people in their 70s and 80s.

It can be awkward, especially when you feel like you're just a kid and they aren't taking you seriously - but I'd take their decision as a sign that they DO take you seriously.

(And hey, it's like being your dad in H_E, only in reverse. *grin*)

Actually, it's been pretty obvious that they're taking me seriously. From the first day, the oldest person there, (probably in her late seventies, I think) has said that she's been impressed by my insights. I just think they all knew how uncomfortable I am with taking leadership roles, and decided to call me on it.

I just had respect for my elders thoroughly drilled into my brain from a young age, so it feels wierd to be in charge of people who are that much older than me.

I don't know. We Gryffindors have some pretty fantastic crack. Once the results of the House challenges are revealed, you'll see. ;)

True, Gryffindors have good crack at times, as do all the other houses. But Hufflepuff has bright yellow and black crack! And cake. We also have cake.

I do have to agree, you Hufflepuffs had some pretty great crack infested stuff going on today from what [livejournal.com profile] elethoniel was telling me. I'm mildly jealous but where y'all have crack we Gryffs have alcohol ;D Yaaa drunken craziness!

And this is why I wasn't sorted into Gryffindor, I have no alcohol tolerance. Five seconds into any Gryffindor party, I'd be unconcious on the floor.
