There are chocolate crinkle cookies baking in the oven, making the house smell wonderful. Of course, it's a sign about how much H_E has taken over my brain that I make cookies and think about Ravenclaws.

The creative area of my mind hijacked the rest of my brain last night, so I got a few drabbles written for old prompts. Sometime today I'll put them up, I promise.

It's probably a sign of how much of a bookworm I am that the first thing I packed to go back to school was half my library. Clothes and food and whether or not I'll actually have a roommate have not been settled, but at least I have my books!

Oh, and samuti made me an icon! *points* I've wanted something like this for a while.

I had to leave most of my books behind when I was in a dorm--no space. I had one bookcase in my apartment, which I gradually filled to overflowing between new books and books from home I decided I needed. Living half-in, half-out of your parents house sucks, especially when you get older.

My mother rearranged the books that I left at home. I don't know whre anything is, now, and one of my knitting books is missing.

Really? I guess I'm unique then. I had more space in one half of my dorm room than I did in my whole bedroom at home. I guess I've just got a tiny bedroom.

Well you *do* have a tiny room, but I understand perfectly with the book packing, I mean, Clothes are easy, but books? they weigh a lot so you've got to pack them well. Ready for the school year?

Well, our dorm would probably have had more space if we had bunked the beds. Since we didn't, we only had one shelf each, above our desks.

My room now doesn't have much any space than the dorm did, but that's mostly because it's filled with my mother's humongous bedroom set.

I did the same with my books. Ended up buying most of the essentials (including some clothes) when I got there, and was charged more than I care to remember for excess baggage on the flight there. Ho hum.

I'm pretty good at remembering the other things, but I have to have my books with me.

Luckily, we live close enough to drive to campus. Saves on some transport hassles.

Also books = fabulous. I don't have as many as I'd like at home, and I have none here (bar textbooks). Well. Maybe one.

Books are my major weakness. They're the only thing I really impulse buy, and if it weren't for the fact that I don't normally have much money on me, I'd be utterly broke.

I couldn't survive without bringing my books along with me. I grab several to take back on breaks, and the worst part of moving into the dorms every time is moving all my books over.
