Aug. 21st, 2006 09:45 amQuickie update.
I've been safely deposited into my dorm room by my parents. It took me till this morning to get online because I lost my network cable sometime in packing and I had to wait until the bookstore was open to buy a new one.
There is one good thing about not having a roommate. It means that I didn't have to be sociable until after I've gotten settled in. I'm definitely an introvert about this, I can't stand having people I don't know well around when I'm stressed, and I'm not even that fond of having people I do know and love around. (Yes, Mom and Dad, that is why I hustled you out of the door so fast after dinner was over.)
I also checked the books I'll need for my classes. Wonder of wonders, I think we're still using the same edition of my physics textbook, which saves me some money. I'll double-check that when I actually buy my books.
My room is starting to come together, my music is on, I managed to connect with one of my favorite professors, and I'm starting to feel more at home.
Rants and finished drabbles will be up soon.

Date: 2006-08-21 05:34 pm (UTC)Not to mention the four hour drive to get home. I wanted to get out too.
Blackie was most upset this morning. He cried and cried. I put your skirt in the dress up box for him and the chair with the pillow you used this summer outside the door of Elizabeth's room. He seems to have calmed down a little. We may have to bring him upstairs for cuddles for a while.
The kids are doing fine. Josie brought a box of tissues because they were getting Jordan's school supplies and she wanted some too.
Take care. Mommy

Date: 2006-08-21 08:09 pm (UTC)I was lucky, too; my roommate wasn't in the room for most of the time I was unpacking, which was very helpful. And my dad, bless him, took my mom for a walk so that we wouldn't be at each other's throats about how to arrange the room.
You sound well and contented. Hope the rest of the year goes just as well for you.
