I'm done. Boy, was today busy.
Okay, okay, I did volunteer for everything I did today aside from work, but boy did today end up being full.
It started actually late last night, when I figured out what I wanted to do for my research paper in Judaism. I bounced off an e-mail to my professor then, outlining the broad idea, because he'd said he wanted us to discuss our papers with him before we started, and I haven't had time to talk to him after class yet this semester, so why would this next week be any different? Then I caught myself and went "duh, shabbat service tonight, his synagogue's 150th anniversary, really important guest coming, there's no way he's going to be paying any attention to his e-mails this weekend." And then he proved me wrong by e-mailing me back first thing in the morning approving my general idea and suggesting ways to go from there. I love my teacher.
By the way, I know I have a few practicing Jews on my flist, would any of you be willing to let me ask random stupid questions later on about your opinions about the mitzvot?
Then today, I had work first thing, which was normal. I didn't have a Quidditch club exec board meeting to go to, because apparently there were several big parties happening last night and our fearless leader wanted us to be able to sleep them off if need be. I slept through the parties, so no comment there. It did make a few things later on easier, though.
And hey, people actually showed up for a Marauder's Meeting! Two of them, actually. I actually did stuff to earn my title as Madame Maulkin today. Stuff including figuring out how to thread one of the mini sewing machines properly, and checking it to make sure the tension was right.
The downside, of course, to having people actually show up for a meeting is that I don't get out of there at 2:15. We were in there working till four. And since I had another meeting at 5:30, I didn't have much of a chance to sit down and relax then.
When I walked out of my second meeting at around sixish, I discovered that someone had done something very foolish in my dorm. They'd attempted to use the stove in the dorm kitchen. And of course, it didn't work out right and set off the smoke alarms. Therefore, the entire complex got evacuated until they could figure out what had gone wrong. I walked back in the middle of this process.
After that excitement, I had about an hour and a half until the play on campus started. I'll give a report on that tomorrow, I'm to tired to do it coherently tonight.
