So, last night, aside from our family St. Patrick's celebration, we went through Grandmommy's jewelry and figured out who was going to inherit what at this time.

Given how much we all loved Grandmommy, you'd figure that this would be a serious and sentimental time.

Um, well, it started out a bit sentimental. Then our memory of her personality kicked in, and we started joking and laughing and being absolutely insane. This was helped by the fact that a few of Grandmommy's pieces can only be described as absolute bling. And picturing Grandmommy making random gang signs and saying "Yo, dudes" is one of the most amusing mental pictures anyone can have.

Other amusing portions of the evening involved searching for a placeholder ring for John to give to Elizabeth while they're saving for their engagement/wedding rings, and watching Elizabeth's response when we pointed out the symbolism of the squashblossom necklace she was wearing. That's the fastest I've seen anyone jerk off a necklace.

And by now I'm convinced that there is some cat DNA in my maternal line. Because there were a few points where we all stopped what we were doing to bat at the shiny things one of us was holding up.

Is this the squashblossom necklace you are referring to? If so, I don't see why she would rip it off.

The design was something like that. The reference I made was to the symbolism, each of the squashblossoms on the side of the necklace supposedly stands for a child that she would have.

As there were fourteen squasblossoms on that particular piece, and she only wants one or two, the minute we reminded her of that symbol, she ripped it off.

She kept the necklace, because it is perfectly suited to her, but she wasn't quite as eager to wear it right then.

Ohh, I get it, haha. I wasn't aware of that symbolism, but yeah, I can see why she would take it off. :)

Seeing as she used to swear that she'd never have kids...yeah. These days she's mellowed out and wants one or two, but not fourteen!
