Okay, I'm officially being really bad about remembering to update my journal this month. Especially this past week. *shakes head*
I mentioned that my professor asked me if I wanted to do a independent study with him last week. Well, I brought it up in an e-mail to my advisor, who wasn't as helpful as I could have wished. He didn't seem to understand what I was asking for when I talked about how I should go about my pre-registration with this. I did give him my teacher's name so that he could talk more with him, and apparently they've been doing that today. The only reason I know this? My teacher's been ccing things to me, and sent another e-mail to me to talk to me further.
Really, my advisor's a nice guy, and he is the person I should be with in terms of getting me through my program, but this is just more proof that if I want to know what's happening, I need to do it on my own.
On the other hand, this does bode well for my class next year with this teacher, if he's going out of his way now to make sure I'm still in the loop.
