Jun. 14th, 2007 10:23 pmWhew!
Okay, today was long. Good, for the most part, but long.
Elizabeth came over today, and she was interested in the kittens I'd seen earlier this week. So we started the afternoon by going up to visit the kittens and seeing which one she wanted to take home with her. *pauses to coo over kittens again*
She ended up going with the gray one. He was the most friendly and affectionate with her, and he's so bright and curious that she thought he'd do well at her home. We've named him Burgess Shale. Free geek points if you get the reference without looking it up.
And then we went out to go idea shopping for bridal gowns, and ended up plotting it out between the two of us. It's definitely something we're going to do ourselves, as there's nothing like it in stores.
We finished up by going for a mall-wander, and we actually found heels that I liked. I'm normally not a shoe person at all, never got the attention and energy other women I know put into shoes before. And I'm normally the one trying desperately to find a formal style that stays completely flat. But this shoe style? Is actually comfortable and I love the way it looks on me. So I'm definitely getting them next time I'm down there with money. And as long as I take proper care of them, I can keep them around until the wedding and use them as my wedding shoes. Definitely of the good.
Sadly, the last part of the day wasn't as good as the afternoon was. We got home to find that our other sister had injured herself. Sara gouged her knee pretty badly when they were trying to get her onto her bus. Since Mom's car is still in the shop, she called up John, Elizabeth's fiancee, and he went out to get Sara and then took Mom and Sara to our family doctor. Sara now has five stitches in her knee. We gave her some extra chocolate at dinner, and that seemed to take her mind off of it.
