We're hitting the second week of toilet training the last of the current crop of children.

Erm, ack? He's not going to train up quickly and easily like the youngest did. She was so stubborn that pretty much as soon as she decided to train, she was trained. This one? It took him from last week until now to start realizing when he needed to go. At this rate, Mom's thinking he'll be trained in a month if we're lucky, but she isn't holding out much hope for that. Gah.

This, by the way, is one of the reasons I'm not planning on having children in the near future. Well, that and I have four more years of school ahead and haven't found anyone worth dating. I'm maternal, yes, but children are so much work and I'm not ready to be a mom full-time.

On the brighter side, however, Mom and I have come up with these amazing cookies. Chocolate and fudgy, with chocolate and mint chips. *melts* So for the near future, if I'm offering you mental cookies, those are the ones I'm giving you.

Considering that my mother and grandmother both waited until they were almost thirty to start having children, I'm not at all worried.

As I've said on other occasions, I love children. I love them and know exactly how much work is involved in taking proper care of them. Thus I'm waiting until I'm ready to take that proper care.

Some kids are just slower than others at potty-training. Hopefully though you are using Pull-Ups instead of big-boy briefs, or otherwise, I'm offering a couple dozen mental cookies to you.

We're using briefs, actually. The problem with pull-ups is the same problem with diapers. The kids can't actually tell that they're wet, so it's really hard for them to learn how to go to the bathroom when they need to. And if they're fighting training, there's no negative consequence like being uncomfortable from the wet underwear to encourage them to start going in the potty.
