Jul. 2nd, 2007 10:53 pmMarzipan is play-dough for adults.
And since playing with play-dough never stops being fun, I really enjoyed tonight. Mom and I decided to use up the leftover marzipan from wedding cake experiment one making decorations for the angel food cake we're making for our family's fourth of July celebration. In practice, this involved me squishing the marzipan until the food dyes blended in smoothly, rolling the dyed marzipan out, and using a star-shaped cookie cutter.
So then we ended up with a ball of leftover red marzipan. Therefore, I decided to try making a rose out of it. *grins* Fun, and it worked out very nicely. We're taking it up to show Elizabeth on Wednesday.
You know, I think I like playing with marzipan more than I actually like the taste.
Aside from my adventures in cake-decorating, I had a fun weekend with
lady_tigerfish. I'm still waiting for her to put up the pictures we took of a certain area downtown for
pikacharma before I post all about it, but the highlights of the day included a Canadian Goose Armada, copious quotations from Firefly (alright, five out of seven of those were reiterations of "Some people juggle geese!"), and a porn shop located next to a church supply store.
