...You know what? I'm not going to mention my reactions to HP now. Because I've only read it once and I know I'm missing a lot of things that I'll catch on the re-read.

The party last night was excellent, though. Mom and I finished up my robes for it that afternoon, and I got to go as Rose Zeller, from Hufflepuff. Yes, this is a direct reference to [livejournal.com profile] minisinoo's Finding Himself, where Rose gets mentioned beyond being a random name in the crowd.

We had a costume contest last night. You should have seen the ones who won. There was this one little five year old boy who came in costume as Hedwig, and handily won the under-eleven contest. The eleven to fifteen group was won by this little girl in full-on Trelawney garb. And she was note-perfect as Trelawney, honestly. The adult contest was split for the longest time. There was one girl with a less-than-inspired Hermione outfit, but she brought along a live kitten as her Crookshanks, and then there was a fantastic Molly Weasley outfit that looked like the actress had walked off the screen and was hanging out with the rest of us. So, cute kitten versus well-made costume. Molly won, just barely.

There was supposed to be a moderated discussion of the books and theories for book seven. What actually happened was that Dad showed up and ended up taking over moderating the discussion, while the Books & Co employee ran to go do a half-dozen different last minute things that needed to be done.

And then we got the book and I stayed up till four in the morning reading it so that Thomas would be able to grab it when he got home. Unfortunately for me, I brought it upstairs when I finished reading it, so that it would be available for everyone else to read, and when Dad saw it first thing in the morning he thought that I hadn't read it yet. So he came down to wake me up and ask me if I was going to read it. Me on about three hours of sleep? Not a pretty picture. I think he got the clue when I mumbled something about having read it and then pulled the blankets over my head and refused to talk about the book till I was done sleeping.

I think I'm going to take at least a short nap this afternoon as well, because I'm going to be babysitting an infant this evening and her sleep cycle is that she stays up until after midnight and then sleeps for about five hours in a row. Great for her mother, who actually gets a long period of sleep. Not exactly good for the babysitter who gets her in her "I'm not tired!" mode.

Your contests were really great! We didn't have an adult group, just all for the kids. But I did get told I looked like a young professor McGonagall by like every person who saw me...lol.

I couldn't stay up to read it all, I took my meds and they kicked in around page 100 and I had to put it down. Going to read today though.

Holy crap, you've finished it already? Wow.

I can't wait to get my hands on it...the downside of ordering online, eh...

I kind of had to read it that fast. Thomas and Dad are taking it to camp with them Sunday morning, and Thomas is going to try to read it tonight so that he doesn't have to pass it over to Dad in the middle of the week.

But I do tend to read fast anyway. It's just that if I didn't have to immediately pass it on to my various family members, I'd have at least waited till morning to read.
