(no subject)

I'll update later with news about my weekend, but I'm asking for a prayer request right now.

Liz has been a friend of my family for a long time. We're talking about fifteen years now or more. I've been there at her wedding, I've been babysitting her kids since the oldest boy was one. For the past few years, her mother has been dealing with cancer, and for the past few months, she's been slowly dying. And poor Liz has been dealing with her mother dying and with being the person everyone in her family has relied upon during all of this. This morning, Liz called me up to let me know that her mother died last night.

So, if you have a chance today and you're religious in any respect, please send up a prayer or two? And even if you don't have any religious leanings, please think a few good thoughts for Liz. She's dealing with a lot.

Ficpost, Favoritism

Yes, this is about a week later than everyone else did on putting up Hogsmeade stories, but hey, what can I say?

This one actually didn't make it in to the voting, although I didn't ever get a reason as to why it was rejected. The challenge, for those of you on my flist who aren't in H_E, or for those who have forgotten them by now, was to write a story set in the classroom from the teacher's perspective.

Ficpost, Brothers

This was the other story I did for Hogsmeade, and this is actually the reason it's taken me this long to put these up. I actually ended up rewriting this story, it's about double the size of my initial entry.

The initial challenge was to write a story in which all the scenes took place in reverse chronological order. My initial entry did, in the rewrite I ended up writing a closing snippet which took place back in the first time period, because I wanted to finish off the story correctly.
