Sep. 21st, 2006 07:41 pmWhew. I just doublechecked my McKay/Weir Ficathon email, and I misread the deadline. I've got an extra week to finish working on it!
In other good news, there is a row of rosebushes facing the UE library. These are the old-fashioned roses that actually have a scent to them, and I've been enjoying them for as long as they've been blooming.
Yesterday I had a meeting with my advisor, and he had both good news and bad news. The good news is that I will be keeping my direct entry position up for the PT program, so long as my GPA improves, which we're both pretty confident that it will. The bad news is that, because of the delay and having to retake a few courses, I will require an extra year before I can join the PT program. I still need 28 credits, there's just no way I can do that in one semester. So if start the PT program not this coming summer, but the next, I'll have an extra year to take all the courses I need to complete my undergrad. He was quick to point out that, in pretty much every other school which offers a DPT, it's a seven year program anyway, so comparatively, I'm spending no longer in school than most of the people pursuing this degree.
At this point, I'm kind of glad that most of my closest friends here are a class or two below me. It means I'll have them for most of my career here. And this does mean that I'll get to take additional biology and religion classes. I ended up leafing through the course catalogue and going "I want to do that, and that, and ooh, Theology and Story? Sign me up!" Yes, I have been distracted from having to spend an extra year in college by the shininess of knowledge. I'm such a Ravenpuff.
