Jun. 4th, 2007 12:33 pmSo, Saturday was Thomas' graduation ceremony, with all the family celebrations.
Sunday, I got together with
ladytigerfish for the afternoon and evening. Err, can we say fun?
Any time you get two parts of our terrible trio (
ladytigerfish,
x5_jondi, and I) together, it's an insanely fun day. You get all three of us together, and we do not stop talking and enjoying ourselves until the day is over.
We went to go see Pirates together, because if it was good, we'd enjoy it together, if it was awful, we could mock it mercilessly. And you know, it wasn't that bad. There wasn't anything exceedingly stupid, and I thought that the endings for the various characters made sense. It was relatively good fluff, unlike Pirates two, where I felt like I'd wasted my money going to see it.
After the movie, we sat around and talked. Part of the discussion included the persistent rumor that had gone around our high school that we were a lesbian couple, instead of seeing us as good enough friends that my mother introduces her to people as "my as good as daughter". About midway through that conversation we proved why we do consider ourselves sisters, by bursting out almost in unison "Oh, God, we're the victims of a fandom incest couple!"
She also asked me if I'd be interested in playing Sheppard Book in the Firefly role-play that she and her friends from school are doing. Partially because I am perfectly capaple of doing his random bits of theology off the top of my head. So of course, this means that we're going to have to get together again soon to do a Firefly marathon, get the character voices right. Plus I still need to take her out yarn shopping so that she can help me get the right colors for her friend's shawl.
And to keep things interesting, as I was typing up this entry, a bird flew into my mother's bedroom and freaked out one of the kids who was trying to take her nap. Our cats were very interested in said bird, so much so that we had to shut them out of the room. We're kind of hoping that once the bird is a bit less freaked by the screaming three-year-old and the cat following it, it'll fly back out one of the windows.
