update from Mari-land
May. 13th, 2011 01:11 pmSo, it's been a while since I updated. What's new?
Well, for one, my brother finished his Div 3 project, which means he's graduating on track. In fact, we're going up to collect him and watch him march in his graduation ceremony in a little over a week. I need to copy over some images from facebook so that all of you can see his sculptures. If you've seen the Bodies exhibit, Thomas did something similar. Only he sculpted all of his work. Six life-sized human skeletons, each isolating a body system or two, hand carved. Plus a ton of sketchwork. He's gearing up to be a medical illustrator, and with these, you can really see why he's brilliant at it.
In other news, my sister Sara, the disabled one, has been battling sinus infection after sinus infection after eye infection this whole spring. Which means that Mom has been stressing semi-constantly about Sara, and therefore I've been stressing about taking care of Mom.
And finally, I have an interview set up for a massage job! With the main caveat being that the interview isn't until July. In Miami Florida. *dies a little* But if all goes well with it, I'd get sent to training in England, and from there to a cruise ship to work in one of the onboard spas there. Which, well, I've always wanted to get out of the country, and this way, I'd get paid to do so.
Until then, I'm staying at home, helping Mom out with the day-care and all the thousand-odd issues that pop up in a home. Like, say, the dryer deciding to die yesterday. We've got two clothes-lines set up in the back yard for now, and it's finally stopped raining every ten minutes, so the clothes can actually dry out on the line.
