(no subject)

So, lj went down the week I had an active social life.

Let me explain... No, it is too much, let me sum up.

On the 23rd, I finally went to see Harry Potter with my brother, reenchantress, and her boytoy. I was skeptical about splitting the movie originally, but in the end, I think it really did work. Part two was intense, and very well done. I have few nitpicks, and I actually teared up at the Resurrection Stone sequence.

...and in the costumer's part of my brain, I am in lust with McGonagall's sleeves. Those were gorgeous.

Last Tuesday, I was kidnapped by one of my close friends and her husband. They were pet-sitting in an actual pre-Civil War mansion. You could see the divisions in the house between the main quarters and what were the servant's areas. 'Twas awesome.

Wednesday I got kidnapped by another close friend, though we'd actually scheduled this one. A trip to the Cinci Opera to see The Magic Flute, with sirutka. It was my second opera, and marvelously done. We were up in the nosebleed seats, but there really wasn't a bad seat in the house. And there was a little boy sitting behind us, whose father had taken him out to see his first opera. The kid seemed to love it, though luckily the bit where the bird puppets humped each other during Papageno's first song went straight over his head.

And this past Saturday, I went down to the local Celtic festival with reenchantress. Gaelic Storm in a free concert, what isn't to love?
