Generalized Silly Time

After a less than spectacular morning, I had a great afternoon to make up for it. Stephanie picked me up and we spent the afternoon together. We went to the mall and wandered around for two hours, not doing much, talking. I spent most of it picking out clothes that she would look good in, and she's appointed me to shop for her for the rest of her life. Something about the fact that I would spot things she'd look good in before she'd even notice it. We spent a while in Sleepy Hollow, which has the best fancy clothes around. Gorgeous stuff, and the little nick-nacks were sometimes even better than the clothes. There were a lot of Amy Brown artwork out there, things we enjoyed looking at and talking about.

Then we headed over to Dorothy Lane Market to get the ingredients for a dish I told her to make for a friend's pot luck birthday party. Absolutely great Brushetta. While it was cooking, I showed her a few of my favorite Atlantis music vids, and I think I've convinced her to watch the show. I've corrupted another one!

Aside from the fun things we did, the part I enjoy most about spending time with Stephanie is actually when we talk. There's just so much that we understand intuitively about eachother. We can reference some unusual ideas, and we'll both get the reference while most other people are wondering what the heck we're talking about. I can say Barrie to her, and she'll understand that I mean John Barrie, author of Peter Pan.

Brushetta recipe
I loaf of good white bread.  (make sure you use a very good bread, this recipe is all about quality of ingredients)
a few ripe tomatoes, skinned and chopped.
pesto sauce
Mozzarella cheese, grated
Cut the bread into 1 inch thick slices and arrange on a cookie sheet.  Brush pesto sauce on, enough to cover the tops of the slices but not enough to make them soggy.  Arrange tomato chunks on top of the bread, and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
Run through the broiler until the cheese melts.
