It was so warm today, in the mid sixties, and with a good breeze. I had almost forgotten how good warm breezy days felt, after the past few weeks of cold and ice. I'm glad I enjoyed it today, because the temperature is already dropping and I think it's supposed to stay cold throughout the week.

I've been back home for three full days now, with only a mild adventure on the drive here. There was an accident on 71 in Kentucky, on Friday, and my driver and I were sent on an hour long detour through a few rural routes. At one point, we were joking that if we got lost or missed one of the detour signs, all we would need to do would be to stop in at the next roadside bar, since we'd seen two in as many minutes, and ask for directions. And that led to joking about how we'd stop the guys in the bars from hitting on us instead of telling us how to get to 71-75. I think by the end of it, we'd decided to go with the standing offer I'd made her back when she was having issues with psuedo-stalker boy, and have me pretend to be her girlfriend. Of course, by the time we'd reasoned all this out, we had finished the last turn of the detour and had seen the signs indicating where the highway was. It made for a good distraction, at least.

Back home, I've mainly been hanging out with various family members. My oldest sister, my mother, and I went fabric shopping on Saturday evening, and we found cotton to make into Easter dresses for Mom and I from a pattern we'd just finished making for Elizabeth. We're going to be triplets, come Easter morning. I also found this beautiful grayish blue-green linen looking fabric out of which I'm planing on making a Medieval fitted dress (like this one: http://www.cottesimple.com/fem_silhouette/curved/curved_30.htm).

On Sunday there was church! I've so missed going to my home church, even with getting to attend Temple on Fridays back at school. There's something to be said for your own faith tradition. Plus, we had adult education with a teacher from United Theological Seminary. I've been sneaking down to his classes since I was in 7th grade, and I love learning from him. He hadn't heard the news, or didn't remember hearing it if he'd been told, that I am giving serious thought to pursuing seminary myself in a few years time, and he was so excited. He was also really interested in the religion classes I've been taking at school, especially since two of the ones I took last semester: Contemporary Theologies, and Ancient Christianity, related to the subject of the current Lenten study he was leading for us.

Sunday also featured a mall-wander with Mom, Dad, and Sara. We didn't intend on buying anything, but we lucked into two rather big sales, and ended up getting Sara a swishy skirt and me two shirts from Sears for under ten bucks, and Christmas presents for Dad and Elizabeth from Artisans Gallery for half the normal price. Mom and I just need to remember that we got those presents, ten months from now!

In less-fun news, we also wrestled with taxes. I find it highly amusing that Indiana state taxes are actually more complex, at least at my income level, than federal taxes. Err, actually, instead of highly amusing, read: extremely frustrating. *sighs* After next year, when I get taxed on this semester and any summer work I get, I won't have to deal with Indiana taxes anymore. That is a bright spot. Mom assures me that Ohio tax forms aren't nearly as vexing.

And tomorrow, I vote! And trace out the correct bust piece for the Easter dress. I wear the same size as my mother and sister, aside from the bustline, so everything else is already done. Oh, and go to the meditation-prayer thing that Mom's been telling me about, and actually get to walk a labyrinth, which I've been looking forward to for some time. But mostly, I vote.

Voting yay! I'm voting tomorrow, too. :)

Ugh, taxes. This was my first year paying. Or rather, not paying, since I'm so poor they gave it all back - all $14! What a windfall. ;) But I am really grateful Texas doesn't have a state income tax. It sounds dreadful.

Yay! Sounds like a fabulous time! And yay for voting...I get to do that when I go home.

I'm not sure _I_'d heard you were thinking about seminary.

I haven't mentioned it much, I don't think. And a lot of it was probably buried in everything that was going on last semester, with my roommate and the PT program.

Right now it's still tenative, although the standard response I get from other people when I tell them about it is, "what took you so long to figure that one out?"
