I was doing great. I've got all the main pieces of the dress cut out, with a lot of fabric left over to cut the lining pieces out after the main body is sewn and I have the pattern pieces free. And I got one of the side front pieces pinned to the center front, hopefully I got the easing correct for what those pieces are supposed to be.
In short, I was all set to start sewing the actual dress together, and then I looked up and realized I couldn't see my bag from Joanns anywhere in my room. Said bag has both bolts of thread, plus the zipper I won't be using in it. So I've stalled out until I can find the thread, because I can't use my housemate's thread for my dress.
And of course, I sweep through my room three times and can't find the bag. Every other bag, yeah, but not that one. *sighs*
The plan for tomorrow is to do one more sweep through my room, and if I can't find it, walk down to Joanns and pick up some more thread. (Knowing, of course, that Murphy's law dictates that I will then find the thread when I return.)
In fandom news, I still have to post up the second part of my Narnia Facets story, from Edmund's perspective. Oh, and finish writing Susan's section while I'm at it, because that's been languishing half-finished for a week or so.
And, having caught up on Doctor Who last week, I decided I'd finally give Torchwood a try. I'm barely into the first season, and have just watched the first three episodes. It's looking good, quite interesting. Definitely a lot darker and more adult-oriented than Doctor Who, but it has potential.
