So, it's International Blog against Racism week this week.

Like last year, I'm opening up this post to drabble requests involving characters of color in any of the fandoms I list below. (Standard format for drabble requests: the character, the fandom, and a word or phrase to use as a prompt.) Alternately, give me a character/issue involving race in one of those fandoms, and ask me for a mini-meta on that.

Available fandoms: Firefly, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Narnia, NCIS, Stargate SG-1, or Harry Potter.

I am so glad you asked me about that one, because it's one of the few points in the books where I re-read them and wince.

The actual meta will come some time this week, but I just really wanted to thank you for giving me a good excuse to post thinky-thoughts on the subject.

As a meta? I'm not sure what I could say about that that I haven't seen written better and more detailed elsewhere. I'd probably just go into a rant about how sick and stupid the whole concept is, which isn't exactly a new thought.

If you meant as a fic, I'm not sure I can get my brain that twisted, and I'd really prefer to stick to writing more non-white characters, rather than approaching the racism and prejudice from the side of the racist.
