Stargate and Atlantis
Aug. 6th, 2005 09:26 amMy thoughts on last night's episodes.
Stargate SG-1: I'm really starting to like Vala. Her line to the Senator in charge of appropriations was classic. I'm still not sure about Mitchell, He hasn't really established much about his character yet. All right, most of that is because these episodes center so much on Vala and Daniel, but all I've gotten from him so far is a few jokes and a desire to get SG-1 back together. I need more from him. I'd also like more about the Jaffa nation. I know it's been there, but it's been relegated to being back story. We need to see more.
Atlantis: Poor Rodney. He's become such an uponable this season. I did like this episode, but I really pity McKay. Bad enough to go on a date, but to have Carson show up and a woman with decided opinions that conflict with yours in your head, is it any wonder the date was a disaster? I was a little surprised that the only one who seemed to care about what Rodney was going through was Carson. Sheppard seemed oddly focused on Ronan, to the point where I was a little worried. Last season they showed Sheppard and McKay as being very close friends, but this episode Sheppard spent most of his time ignoring McKay. He worried a bit at the beginning, and then made a snide comment at the end, but otherwise there was nothing.
I did admire David Hewlett's acting ability. When Laura was in control, it did seem like a woman was controlling the body. Mannerisms, body language, it did look like a woman with a man's body.
