Sep. 4th, 2008 10:29 pmIt's been a few of those days where I've been noting all the small pleasures of life.
Like going to the first choir practice of the year here at my home church, and the sense of welcome and belonging I have with them, beyond what I normally have with my church. They're a bunch of crazies, so I fit right in.
And it was so fun to be singing again! To be pulling in the fun harmonies and getting a chance to hit the high notes with other people doing so right next to me. (Side note for those of you who have never heard me in person, yes, I am one of those weirdos who has fun hitting all the impossibly high notes on the soprano register.) Oddly, most of my favorite songs to sing along to are into the alto range, which is a bit hard for me to hit easily.
Then there's been getting a chance to talk with people I haven't talked to in a while. It seems like the past two days I've been talking a lot more with people I haven't seen in a while. I even finally got
lady_tigerfish and I online at the same time, and it's been ages since we've been talking.
And finally, never underestimate the power of a cup of tea and a couple of chocolate chip cookies to help your mood.
