mari4212Okay, when I woke up this morning, ending up on tv by the end of the day definitely wasn't utmost on my mind on the list of things I had to do today.
Nevertheless, end up on tv I did. Our family tradition is to attend Christmas morning services, we've been doing so for around fifteen years, after my little brother realized that Christmas fell on a Sunday and we had to attend church, because it was Sunday and that's what you do.
Today, when we drove into the parking lot, a news crew pulled in after us and asked us if there was a Christmas day service. They filmed part of the service and interviewed several of the parishioners, including my mother and I, about what Christmas meant to us. So, tonight several of us ended up on the ten o'clock news as a human interest story.
The rest of Christmas Eve and Christmas day was a bit more traditional. The Christmas Eve service was beautiful, crowded, and full of music. I was asked to dance again, at the last minute, and it went rather well, from all reports. During the dance, I was a bit distracted by my bun falling out midway through. I somehow managed to get my hair down without my hairstick transforming into a projectile in the midst of a turn, and a lot of the people watching told me afterwards that they'd thought I meant to take my hair down at that point in the dance.
An eternal truth of dance is this: pulling a cat and pretending that you meant to do that all along can get you through pretty much every misstep.
But really, it was a rather quiet Christmas, with just the family present.
