At the beginning of the week, it was barely hitting the twenties for a high, and I was freezing every time I even stepped close to a wall. (Hi not-fun aspect of old homes with leaky walls.)

Yesterday and today? It hit the sixties. It was warm and breezy, perfect weather for pulling on a light jacket and wandering out on a long walk. This time, with the bonus of no creepy guys messing up my day.

Also, I have a half-written draft of a rant/meta in defense of Ziva, from NCIS. Prompted in large part by getting back into NCIS fandom and reading far too many stories where she's turned into the bitch and meta where she's flat out bashed. Will this be of interest to anyone besides me?

Isn't weather *funny*? We've had the same sort of thing, swinging from the 80s to the 30s and back to the 80s within the space of a week. Who needs seasons when you can get them all in 10 days?

Weather in the 60s will feel a bit chilly for me in a bit, when I've gotten used to the warm weather. But when you go from about twenty degrees below freezing up to the 60s, they are an island vacation to be relished.

Mostly I wander around the immediate neighborhood, which is mostly residential, houses with small yards. There are a few small parks that I'll go to and enjoy the swings and the grass.

For the most part, the nature parks are out of walking distance.

There are people who don't like Ziva? This is why I don't get deeply involved in fandom (well, besides having enough internet time-suckers already), I never have to be frustrated when people bash characters I like.

Rule one of fandom: If there is a female character present, there is someplace where she is being bashed.

In my skimming, I've seen a lot of people bashing her for being nasty to Tony (Season three, especially, but that thread continues to today), bashing her for being too concerned about Tony (Season four, and at least one episode from this season), bashing her for replacing Kate, bashing her for being on good terms with Director Shepard, and in general, bashing her for every action she's ever done.

(This is not mentioning the fics written which turn her into an evil snob out to destroy woobie!Tony's emotional well-being and position on the team, the bitch who everyone on the team hates, plotting with Jenny to split up the team and get Gibbs to fall back in love with Jenny, et cet.

On the plus side, there are people who love Ziva and write her well. You just, well, have to strain through a good deal of muck to get to the gold. Occasionally, I rant about all the muck.
