Jun. 17th, 2009 11:22 pmThis morning, Dad went above and beyond the call of fatherly duty, and I managed to avoid killing a feline.
The backstory is that Ginger, one of our two remaining cats, evidently decided that she desperately needed me to be paying attention to her throughout the wee hours of the morning. So from a little before midnight till 3am, she yowled at me at a maximum interval of 30 minutes, most often, less than that. Suffice it to say, I could not get to sleep and stay asleep with her doing that.
Now, since Dad gets up at what even I consider an obscenely early hour of the morning, I heard him up and moving at 3. And since I was by this time desperate to get at least some sleep in before I had to wake up at 6am for class, I carted the cat up the stairs and begged him to keep her from coming back to wake me up. He did so, even with our cat actually biting him to try to get back downstairs to wake me up again.
So I managed to get in three hours of sleep before I had to go in to class today and both give a poster presentation on one aspect of Shiatsu theory, and take the practical test of doing the basic kata on another teacher. Not nearly what I would have preferred, but far more than Ginger was wanting to give me.
Luckily for me, both the presentation and the practical test went off well, and I've been told that since I have an overall A in the class, I don't need to show up next week for the written test.
Now, to finish up the last bits of my Polio paper and print it out for tomorrow's class.
