So, today I christened my new massage table today with an hour-long massage that really did not seem to be as long as it was, for either me or my brother-in-law who was playing client. (This, after working a seven-hour shift at a hardware store, is making me feel good about my stamina for doing massages.)
I also finally bit the bullet and bought myself a new computer from Dell. It should get here on the 14th, and then I'll get to play with it a bit more, figure out what I'm doing with it. For a new computer, it was relatively inexpensive, a little under 800 including all the systems, upgrades, shipping, and tax. I've never named my computers, but so many of my friends do, I'll probably name this one. The two-week wait will at least give me long enough to think up a name for the computer itself. The flash-drive, I already know I'm going to name TARDIS. It's going to be blue, and for the amount of information it'll carry, I'm pretty sure it has to be dimensionally transcendent.
*sighs* Remind me again, this is something I can afford and it's a good investment to make now. At least this way, I'll have a working computer that'll be able to interface with my parent's coming computer when it comes to printing out documents. And on the plus side, this laptop is going to be able to take everything my desktop holds three times over and still have room to spare.

I find it so fabulous that you have your own massage table. I mean, it makes sense why (duh) but still, I'm all "SHE HAS A MASSAGE TABLE.
I wanna massage table.HEE HEE HEE AWESOME." I do not know why.no subject

I know, but my initial reaction to spending anything like that is to wonder if I really need it. Good for my savings and bank account, not perfect for getting things.

Possibly because that means that when you come to visit I can tackle you and give you a massage? Or just because it is happy-making, and you are a good friend and enjoy seeing me squeeful?

Mine too, actually, which is why I tend to insist on "Treat yourself!" to other people. :D
Because it is happy-making and I enjoy seeing you squeeful. Also, MASSAGE TABLE! It's like... I don't know what it's like. A stethoscope. Rollerblades when you're an professional inline hockey player. A tradie's ute, or a nurse's pocket watch. It's a tool of the trade, but something that's also Really Cool Anyway.
(Also like a 70s lounge chair but I don't know how that comes into it.)

So yes, speaking as a cheap skate, laptops are a good investment, you have chosen well.

Then, yeah, I'll let you try out the new table.
On the computer, yeah. I've been reminding myself that I'm looking to get around 8 years of use out of this computer, pretty much running it into the ground, and that therefore, it works out to a very cheap computer in the long run. (Also, the look on Thomas's face when I told him how much my computer cost was excellent. His cost twice as much.)
