Good things

1. A friend in town is letting me use her house to set up my table and give a few massages in two weeks. She's inviting a bunch of her friends to set up appointments with me there. I may actually earn money on this whole massage thing. Who knew?
2. At Christmas, Mom gave me a finger labyrinth "kit", consisting of a round block of wood and a paper pattern for the 13 circuit labyrinth. This week, Thomas started working on actually making it, tracing the pattern onto the wood and so forth. We're planning on borrowing Elizabeth's dremmel and using that to cut the proper channels. If all goes well, I'll have a working finger labyrinth in the not-too-distant future.
3. We used my favorite Communion prayer today. The one my family and I refer to as the Star Trek Prayer. (click on Holy Eucharist, then on Prayer C under Rite Two, and see if you don't see what I mean. This was published in '76, and whoever came up with it definitely had to have been watching some Original Trek in the background while writing.
4. We did not listen to the guest organist destroy "Let all Mortal Flesh Keep Silence", because he brought along a soloist. The guest organist is a great guy, but he's horrible with tempos, and keeps slowing down as he's playing because he hears the congregation after he's played the notes, not realizing that the size of the church is what's causing the delay.
5. The Awesome Characters of Color Ficathon is continuing, and I have at least one piece written for it, that I'll be posting up here soon. It broke the comment limit on lj. *grins* Gwen gets talkative. But there are lots of prompts left unanswered, and a lot more awesome characters that need good prompts. I haven't seen anything from NCIS/NCIS:LA, for example, or Babylon 5.
