So, in the news from Mari-land.
1. I voted today, which officially gives me complaining rights for the next two years as far as the government goes.
2. I'm trying Nano this year. Currently, I'm at over 5000 words on day two, and I've gotten through about 2 and a half of my pre-planned scenes, with several more that sort of appeared out of nowhere to connect things together. I also had an unexpected human antagonist show up for my professor characters, have decided that Naoko Mori makes a beautiful research librarian, and have yet to hit the first club meeting for the Sherlock society. Said club meeting will only introduce the concept of the library ghosts, it's going to be a bit longer before he and his company even show up all the way.
Plan for tomorrow on the story is to finish the current scene with Evie, including the wrap-up with maintenance crew, the librarian, and the school nurse for her new gash, and to start work on the club meeting.
3. It really does help to know that one of my friends is bribing me with candy for every 10000 words I write. He's given me the first batch early, and yum.
4. In other news, I have achieved cables! Knitted ones, that is. I was given a whole bunch of yarn, and I had enough of this olive-green wool to knit a scarf, so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to attempt a simple cable pattern. I'm about a foot in on the project, which is about right to get me finished, along with some of my other projects, by Christmas.
