Oct. 23rd, 2005 07:51 pmNo one is talking to me. *pokes flist* Seriously, something I have to say should interest one of you at least.
Church was good, as usual. We sang one of the most difficult songs in our repitore this morning in church. Of course, it's also one of our most beautiful. It's Sanctus and Benedictus, arranged by Paul Halley, and I encourage anyone to find a recording of it and listen to it as it is gorgeous. We even called in an outsider to accompany us on the soprano saxiphone, which is what the arrangement calls for. You wouldn't think an organ, a choir, and a saxiphone would sound that wonderful together, but it did. We even had one of the really old guys in the church stand up after we had finished and ask the priest if the congregation could have a few minutes to applaud us for the song. That was pretty cool, and it was done with respect to the fact that we were still in a church during a worship service, so it didn't ruin the mood of the service.
And then this afternoon I had a concert with Women's Chorus. Now, up until Friday at dress rehearsal, we were still not sounding that great on most of the songs. Thank God for preformance mode. We got up there in front of the audience, and it actually sounded good. Plus, I did not faint or get dizzy up there, so yay for me. *does little happy dance of not dizzing out*
And I managed to write a six hundred word essay for
hogsmeade_elite on how I'd end the wizarding war. And it even boiled down to more than just "Kill Voldemort. Boogie down on his grave." Somehow, I get the feeling JK isn't going to do it my way.
I need to e-mail my group for religion class, we need to get together at least once more before our presentation on Wendsday. At the very least, we need to work out exactly what we are going to say before we go up.

Date: 2005-10-24 01:30 am (UTC)Yay for being applauded! That sounds beautiful, if a bit unorthodox, and I wish I could have heard it.
And no dizzy! Hurrah!
And it even boiled down to more than just "Kill Voldemort. Boogie down on his grave."
*snicker*
Good for you! Will you post it on here when you can? 'Cause I, for one, would love to read it.

Date: 2005-10-24 02:11 am (UTC)I've had it happen a few times, after doing a dance, but that was the first time it happened after a song.
yes, the no dizzy is a definite yay.
Glad I made you laugh, and I'll post it after Hogsmeade's done, if I can remember to grab it. It basically boiled down to the fact that the Wizarding World needs to change the way it views the world before the war can really be over.

Date: 2005-10-24 04:15 am (UTC)Ah. Reading "Somehow, I get the feeling JK isn't going to do it my way." I wondered what "your way" was, but that answers it. My feeling for a long time has been that JKR is not gonna do it as dark as I want, though given the past few books, who knows really. But yeah, I think both are worries come under a broader worry that JKR just isn't gonna have it be complicated enough (because life is messy and complicated and complex, and it's too easy to boil things down to easy sides).

Date: 2005-10-25 01:31 am (UTC)When the voting is over, I'll post it up here so that people can see what I think. Of course, I'll probably go back and edit it about twenty times before I do.
And yeah, I highly doubt it will be as complex as it would be in real life.

Date: 2005-10-25 02:04 am (UTC)Yup. I suspect the final book won't live up to some of the amazing fanfic takes I've seen. (

:) I'm definitely interested to read it. And I definitely understand the editing compulsion.

Date: 2005-10-25 02:08 am (UTC)And considering the fact that I wrote it in like twenty minutes, yeah, its going to need some editing.
