Sep. 25th, 2011 08:18 pmMy sister and brother-in-law took me out to the Ohio renfaire today, in payment for me giving Elizabeth a massage. *grins* I love family trades like that.
We did most of the required Faire things, like watching the Mud Show, at least trying to catch part of the joust (we got there too late to get close enough to see anything, sadly), and of course, lots of wandering around the merchant booths. I had a lot of merchants fixate on me, because apparently the pretty red-head who dresses up is the perfect model for a lot of their wares. And I finally managed to try on a corset.
...Next time I have 150 dollars to spend on a non-essential piece of clothing, I'm getting myself one. That thing accentuated the hell out of every last curve I have, and was definitely in the comfortable/supportive side of things, not constrictive.
We also got to do a few things that only happen at a Renfaire, like getting a semi-customized serenade from a wandering minstrel.
And okay, my feet and my shins are killing me, because I was wandering around on gravel all day, but it was a lot of fun. And something I hadn't thought I was going to get to do this year, given my finances.
