Feb. 11th, 2012 08:52 amThere is a new Springsteen song, my father is happy.
No, really, he got home from chemo and was rather tired and laggy, but he was thrilled when he heard that there was a new Springsteen album coming out, and even happier to hear this first song.
I was going to post about last weekend earlier, but then I was out of internet for a night, and busy enough during the days that I didn't get around to it. Which is a shame, because last weekend was awesome for me.
As I've mentioned before, I'm starting the discernment process to see if I should become a priest. Last weekend, the diocese held an Explorer's Day, which is the start of the discernment process. Anyone who is interested in any form of ordained ministry comes there first, and the diocesian people explain the process, what they're looking for, and helps us figure out if we want to continue.
...Short answer? YES!!!! I was just so thrilled with all of it, everything the bishop was discussing about what the roles of priest and deacon are about, the discussions we had in our small groups about what the role of the church is, what we feel the roles of priests and deacons are, about what seminary would be like, just, everything. I came back bouncing from it.
The next step is writing a spiritual autobiography and having that in to the main diocesian office by April 1st. We'll see where it goes from there, but I'm just thrilled to be starting this process. I'm ready for it in a way that I wasn't even last year.
reenchantress, stop laughing, I know you've been expecting me to do this probably since high school.
