mari4212A word of advice to delivery people?
It is, you know, your job to deliver items in a polite, timely fashion, without damaging anything else in the delivery. You should expect that people are going to want to make sure that you are delivering what they ordered, and that it functions as required. And that they'll want a chance to read what it is they are signing. Ideally, you should have a second copy of it, so that the person can keep it for their own records. If you don't bother to have a second copy ready, you should expect to wait a bit while the person receiving the delivery copies over needed information. Do not get upset and impatient with us because you aren't doing your job properly.
This rant brought to you by the Sears delivery team, who arrived today at the very end of the time slot they'd given us, who first tried to leave the dishwasher in the driveway, then got rude and snippy with Mom when she wanted the dishwasher in the kitchen, and got even ruder when she wanted to know why the portable dishwasher she'd ordered seemed to have arrived without wheels. They also proceeded to scratch up part of the kitchen floor while they put the wheels on, and tried to rush Mom through signing all the paperwork without letting her read it. When she took it into the other room to copy down some of the relevant information (including the complaints phone number, because boy was Sears going to get a complaint about this delivery), they tried to get me to rush her because they were running late.
*sighs*
On the upside, after four years of using our old dishwasher as a very large glorified dish drainer, we now have a working dishwasher again. Mom is thrilled about that.
