mari4212So day one of the faculty seminar for the theology institute has happened.
...Guys, I'm in on the ground floor of a new department for the school. This is the first semester it's ever going to have, the semester that will shape it and lay all the groundwork for its later accreditation and transition from an institute run by the diocese into a full-fledged department of the college. And they invited me to come and teach a course!
I'm I think the only lay member involved as a primary teacher. The others are all various members of the clergy. And of course, Padie Alice had me come up in front of them and talk about my course specifically, and concepts of the various relationship models for science and religion. At least two of my fellow clergy/staff members said they wanted to attend my class, and several more looked interested. I might have most of my fellow teachers as my students.

Also, Padie Alice handed out the concept paper for the theological institute, along with an annotated list of references. Skimming through it, I was surprised to see my college's name listed. Apparently the UE religion department ran an online encyclopedia of the early church history. It's no longer updated, but it's still getting used as a major reference for church history work. The Padie was impressed when I pointed out that that was where I went to college.

To distract myself from all this, I've been working on Yuletide fic. Yeah, this is going to be one of those years where I think my recipient is getting two presents. One of the prompts given was an excuse for me to go into headcanony spasms of joy and drabbles, and the other is a slightly more conventional scene that gives me another excuse to shove two of my favorite characters together and let them talk at each other, along with more bits of headcanon.
