There is good news! I did not get my pupils dialated out the yazoo.

The bad news is that that meant Mom and I headed out to the mall to get my new glasses, in the middle of Friday-after-Thanksgiving sale. It was actually less busy than it could have been, and we stayed in the stores that had fewer people. I now have new glasses, and apparently the frames are about the same shade as my hair (this comes from my mom, I can't easily see the frames myself). We went to the pretty dress shop, and I had her try on a few shawls, and I tried on this pretty green lace dress. I have absolutely no place to wear it, so we didn't even look at the price, but it was nice to see how it looked on me.

We also picked out a few presents for various friends/family members, and wandered around talking with each other, just being together.

Oh I hate when I find beautiful clothes I love but which I can't fathom ever wearing anywhere. I've got a few such items in my closet, testament to the fact that I shouldn't let myself buy such things. Though when I was at TJMaxx last weekend I definitely bought a black&gold swishy shirt because it was too pretty not to. I've gotta start getting invited to fancy functions :)

Well, I knew going in that I had nowhere to wear it, I just wanted to try it on and feel pretty. That seems to help. (and then my mother started talking about how it would make a pretty Christmas/Easter dress, as our church goes all out on those days and it's a chance to dress up)

The black and gold swishy skirt sound pretty, and it's a good a reason to go to fancy functions as anything.
